1. Aims & Objectives of the Organization:
BJB Junior College, the premier +2 College of the State and a Center of excellence, caters to the dreams and academic aspiration of the students of our state.
It aims at imparting quality education and providing unique academic environment. It has carved out a niche for itself in the academic map of the State for the extraordinary performance of the students of all disciplines in general and of science students in particular since its inception in 2001. It continues to attract the brightest talents from Odisha and the neighboring States. It provides a platform to nurture and promote the inner creative skills of the students through the pages of “Unnmesh”, the annual magazine. It seeks to instil the values of discipline, punctuality, obedience and diligence in the students. Games and Sports, Cultural activities NCC, NSS, Youth Red Cross, Rovers & Rangers, Yoga, Environmental Education and Computer Education are the integral part of the all round development of the student personality.
2. The College Insignia:
The Motto of BJB Junior College “Satyameva Jayate” enshrined in the College insignia means “Truth alone Triumphs”.
The College crest comprises five distinct segments. The temple, two crossed swords, the atom, the book and the lamp.
3. Brief History of the Public Authority and Context of its Formation:
As per the recommendation in the National Policy on education, 1986, State Govt. of Odisha decided to separate +2 Wings from the Degree College vide resolution No. 33500/ EYS dt. 31.07.1989. Further, on receipt of the G.O. No. 25942, dt. 28.5.1998 issued on behalf of Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of Odisha, the +2 Classes in Arts, Science and Commerce of BJB Autonomous College was separated with effect from the Academic Session, 1998-99. Hence, BJB Morning College was renamed as BJB Junior College from the academic session, 1998-99 onwards in the official records and for all official purposes.

The College is located on the way Cuttack-Puri Highway near the State Museum, Odisha in the Capital city of Bhubaneswar and at present is officiating in the morning shift in the buildings & infrastructure provided by BJB Autonomous College, Bhubaneswar.

e. Library Facility:
It is simply a borrower library, distribution of books to the students is made as per issue schedule.The verification of data reveals that the present stock of the library in approximately 29500 (up to 2012) books.

There is a Junior Hostel providing accommodation to 105 students. Apart from that, as per mutual understanding between the authorities of BJB Autonomous College and BJB Junior College, accommodation is provided to 80 girl students in Ladies Hostel, 25 boy students in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Hostel and 15 boy students in General Hostel.
